Manifest MedEx Expands Health Data Network in Southern California

Scripps Health and AHMC Healthcare join statewide health data utility, helping California improve patient care and reduce healthcare costs through data sharing.

[San Francisco, Calif., December 6, 2018] — Manifest MedEx (MX) is announcing two new major participants for California’s largest nonprofit health data network. Scripps Health, a nonprofit integrated healthcare delivery system in San Diego serving 750,000 patients annually, and AHMC Healthcare, a network of seven affiliated hospitals in the greater San Gabriel Valley, have joined the network to securely exchange crucial patient health information in real time. These additions follow the announcement earlier this year of Stanford Health Care, Heritage California, and Hill Physicians as participants.

MX helps physicians, hospitals, and health plans across California meet their goals of improving quality, reducing cost, and enhancing patient experience. Less than two years since launch, MX participating providers have already demonstrated improvements in patient outcomes and reductions in readmission rates through the use of MX data and services.

Scripps Health includes five acute care hospital campuses with more than 3,000 affiliated physicians and 15,000 employees, and its hospitals are ranked among the best in the nation. Scripps is recognized as a leader in disease and injury prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, as well as being at the forefront of clinical research. AHMC Healthcare operates more than 1,200 beds at seven affiliated acute care facilities and employs more than 7,000 caregivers in the San Gabriel Valley Area. The organization operates safety-net hospitals for a diverse community and has been recognized by The Joint Commission, Baby-Friendly USA, and Becker’s Hospital Review for delivering high-quality outcomes.

“Hospitals and providers across California recognize that they cannot improve care, provide great patient experiences, and reduce costs without better data,” said Claudia Williams, CEO of Manifest MedEx. “We are excited to partner with Scripps and AHMC to help them meet their goals of improving community health and serving diverse communities in Southern California. Their job is to improve healthcare. Our job is to get them the information they need.”

MX offers scalable data services on an upgraded technology platform, helping its rapidly growing network know immediately when patients leave the hospital, treat with confidence based on patients’ whole records, and manage risk and population health. California’s providers will also soon have a new pool of state and federal funding to cover the cost of participation in MX and other health information networks, thanks to a $50 million program MX helped secure for the state.
