MX Welcomes New Director of Public Health Innovation

We are excited to announce that Mimi Hall, veteran California county public health leader will join Manifest MedEx in November as Director, Public Health Innovation. In this role, she will lead MX’s collaboration with county and state agencies to improve public health and prevention. Mimi has more than 20 years of experience in public health and expertise in federal, state, and county public health programs. She has served continuously as a California local public health director since 2005 in Sierra, Plumas, Yolo, and Santa Cruz counties. She is joining MX from Santa Cruz, where she served as Health Services Agency Director. Read the release.

MX Extends Partnership with VCMA

Manifest MedEx is grateful for our close relationship with the Ventura County Medical Association (VCMA) and their efforts to promote participation in the MX network. The VCMA “represents the interests of local physicians from all specialties and practice types… to promote physician wellness and improved patient care.” Building on the goal of “improved patient care,” Executive Director Mary Carr has been a strong advocate for HIE utilization, understanding increased access to patient medical records contributes to the best decisions and patient outcomes.  At Manifest MedEx, we are proud of the progress made through our partnership with Mary and the team at the VCMA to bring health information exchange to Ventura County.

COVID-19 Alerts and Reports

As our communities continue to grapple with the impact of COVID and the delta variant, this is a quick reminder that MX can notify your providers/facility when your patients test positive for COVID so that your care teams can reach out to patients who may need additional care and support. If you are interested in receiving notifications about your patients’ COVID lab results, please reach out to customersuccess@manifestmedex.org to get set up.

News and Events

One of the lessons from Covid-19 is the dangerous risk for our nation created by the gaping divide between public health and clinical care. With little information about their patients’ vaccination status, how can primary care providers help patients overcome hesitancy or find a place to get vaccinated? With no ability to track post-vaccination health, how can public health perform its critical monitoring functions? Claudia Williams, CEO at Manifest MedEx, provides more insight into why we need to strengthen and build robust health data utilities that can link and connect public health and clinical data systems. Read her article published in the Public Health Post to learn more about the importance of funding health data utilities as critical infrastructure and engines for health in our communities.

The Data Exchange Framework Stakeholder Advisory Group convened for its inaugural meeting on Tuesday, August 31st. Comprised of 27 diverse healthcare leaders and representatives from various state agencies, the Advisory Group will advise on the development of the Data Exchange Framework. The Advisory Group meetings are public, and CHHS welcomes and encourages public participation. More than 200 participants tuned into the first meeting of the group. Manifest MedEx is proud to announce that we have successfully renewed our HITRUST certification, demonstrating the highest levels of security in the healthcare industry. This achievement places Manifest MedEx among an elite group of organizations that have earned this certification. By including federal and state regulations, standards and frameworks, and incorporating a risk-based approach, the HITRUST CSF helps address these challenges through a comprehensive and flexible framework of prescriptive and scalable security controls.
