Manifest MedEx Expands Health Data Leadership with New Mission, Vision, and Refreshed Identity
The state’s largest health information organization sets a new bold direction for high-quality health data and whole person care in the decade ahead
[Riverside, Calif. – June 10, 2026] – Manifest MedEx (MX), California’s largest nonprofit health data network, today announced a new mission and a 10-year vision for a future in which high-quality health data supports whole person health in every community. Reflecting these goals, MX also launched an updated brand identity and website today as it prepares to introduce California’s first statewide social health information exchange (SHIE) later this year.

Since 2017, MX has grown to become the central source for California’s most comprehensive longitudinal health records. The organization securely exchanges digital records as permitted for more than 52 million individuals, integrating clinical, claims, and hard-to-reach data with real-time hospital event notifications across every county in the state. Manifest MedEx exchanges data only as permitted by law and agreements with its participants — a commitment that remains foundational to its mission. MX guided a collaborative process with its board, participants, external leaders, industry partners, and its executive team to refresh the organization’s guiding foundations.
“As our collective definition of health has expanded to include mental health, social health, and wellbeing — so has our vision at MX for the role health information exchange can serve in our communities,” said Erica Galvez, CEO, Manifest MedEx. “We are trusted stewards of sensitive data, acting as a powerful connector so that health leaders, county agencies, providers, social services, and individuals themselves can work together with a complete, accurate picture of the whole person. We are leading the way in high-quality data that enables the kind of care we all want for our own families.”
Meeting the local and state needs of California, the organization’s new framework includes:
Mission: We connect and empower healthier communities.
Vision: High-resolution data from Manifest MedEx optimizes health and value for all.
The health data network defines high-resolution data as information that is accurate, complete, timely, actionable, and longitudinal, ready to use in coordinating whole person health and powering a healthy, equitable future.
“As the health data exchange landscape evolves, we have an opportunity to refocus on whole person care through meaningful collaboration and high-quality data,” said Jarrod McNaughton, Chairman of the Board with Manifest MedEx and CEO of Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP). “With the introduction of their new mission and 10-year vision, Manifest MedEx is well-positioned to help communities improve health outcomes by enabling more connected, compassionate, and effective care.”
