Partner News: Manifest MedEx Selects Verato to Improve EMPI and Resolve Duplicate Records
Verato’s Smart “Referential Matching” Technology Will Automatically Resolve Duplicate Records Missed by EMPI
MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 05, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Verato, Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based master patient index (MPI) and duplicate record resolution services, today announced that Manifest MedEx (MX), California’s largest nonprofit health data network, will use Verato Auto-Steward™ to help eliminate duplicate patient records and improve patient matching accuracy. Verato Auto-Steward is a cloud-based service that plugs into electronic health record (EHR) and enterprise master patient index (EMPI) systems to automatically find and resolve their duplicate medical records using smart Referential Matching technology.
MX currently helps deliver health data for more than 11 million patients across California. Resolving patient identities across millions of records from its hundreds of participating hospitals, clinics, and other provider and payer organizations is an immense challenge. MX has an existing EMPI technology to help solve this challenge, however, the EMPI has flagged hundreds of thousands of records as “potential duplicates” that would require manual review to be resolved. MX decided to use Verato Auto-Steward and its smart Referential Matching technology to automatically resolve these duplicate records that the EMPI cannot resolve. This saves MX the time and effort of manual record review and enables more complete and connected health data across California.
“Our mission at Manifest MedEx is to deliver accurate health information to our participants so they can do the hard work of improving patient care,” said David Kates, CTO of MX. “The matching results of Verato’s technology are exciting to see in action. Improving the accuracy of resolving duplicate patient records in our EMPI using Verato will enable us to facilitate the secure exchange of real-time information on millions of patients, while simultaneously reducing our operational costs and saving us time and effort. Ultimately, Verato will enable us to efficiently reach our patient and member matching goals.”
MX is growing quickly in California, having recently added major health organizations including Hill Physicians, Scripps Health, and Stanford Health Care as participants. MX developed a solution that could scale without having to hire additional staff to process the hundreds of thousands of new duplicate records created when connecting new data sources.
“Only our smart Referential Matching technology can solve organizations’ patient matching challenges with unprecedented accuracy, scalability, performance, cost-effectiveness, and ease of deployment and operation,” said Mark LaRow, CEO of Verato. “We are thrilled to be working with Manifest MedEx to help them to improve their EMPI, reduce their duplicate records, and improve their operational efficiency. But more importantly, we’re thrilled to help them better realize their mission of connecting healthcare in California.”
Verato enables healthcare organizations to manage, match, and link their patient and member data with unprecedented ease, accuracy, scale, and performance—and at the lowest cost. Verato offers two cloud-based services: the Verato Universal™ MPI, a HITRUST-certified SaaS solution that represents the new best-in-class EMPI, and Verato Auto-Steward™, a powerful plug-in for EHR and EMPI systems that automatically finds and resolves their duplicate records. Both services use smart Referential Matching technology to match and link patient and member data with the highest accuracy rates in the industry. Verato is based in McLean, VA.
